Three Women Arrested on Felony Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

(New Braunfels, TX) -- New Braunfels Police say three women were arrested Wednesday evening on a variety of charges, including state jail felony drug charges, following a routine traffic stop this week.

An officer stopped a Buick sedan in the 100 block of North Veramendi and found that the car had an apparently fictitious registration sticker.

Then the officer discovered the that driver, identified as 39-year old Carrie Trevino of Dallas, had a suspended driver’s license and did not have current insurance.

Two other women in the car, identified as 25-year old Roxanne Amaro of New Braunfels and 34-year old Amy Llanos of New Braunfels, appeared to be intoxicated according to the officer, possibly under narcotics, and that’s when a usable amount of methamphetamine was found inside the vehicle along with a clear class smoking pipe with narcotic residue on it.

All 3 women were arrested and taken to the Comal County Jail, each on a state jail felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, penalty group 1, among various other charges.

Trevino, the driver, had bond set at just over 6-thousand dollars and at last check she remained in custody.

Amaro, who was also booked on a felony warrant for failure to appear on a previous theft charge, had her bond set at 55-thousand dollars and she also remains in custody.

Llanos had her bond set at just over 12-thousand dollars, and she too remains in custody at the Comal County Jail.
