San Marcos Police Still Searching For Leads In Urrutia Murder Case
(San Marcos, TX) -- The San Marcos Mercury reports that investigators are looking for help from the public to solve a cold case murder. The Hays County Crimestoppers reward for information about who killed Frank Urrutia last fall remains unclaimed. The man’s badly beaten body was found this past September in a pile of brush near the I-35 bridge over the Blanco River and his truck was found 5 days later in the parking lot of a San Marcos apartment complex. Urrutia was last seen leaving Jack’s Roadhouse on Hunter Road two days before his body was discovered. San Marcos police say that a suspect has yet to turn up in the case and they are once again asking for information from the public. Crimestoppers is offering up to a 1-thousand dollar reward for information that helps solve the case, and the man’s family is willing to pay 11-thousand dollars. If you have any information that would be helpful to investigators call Hays County Crimestoppers at 800-324-TIPS.
