(New Braunfels, TX) -- Local Police are investigating the first possible homicide of 2013 in New Braunfels and Comal County.

Around 2pm yesterday New Braunfels Police responded to a call in the 200 block of East Merriweather Street for a welfare check on a 27-year old New Braunfels woman, at the request of a person related to the woman’s boyfriend.

When police arrived at the home, and when no one would answer the door, police decided to enter the residence. That’s when they discovered the body of 27-year old Melissa Eason on the floor of the home. Eason was pronounced dead at the scene and the cause of her death is still unknown.

The case remains under investigation and once more details become available, we’ll keep you posted on AM 1420 kgnb, online at kgnb.am, and on the free kgnb app for iphone and android.
