(New Braunfels, TX) --  Freshmen in the NBISD made their way to the district’s new 9th Grade Center yesterday and picked up their brand new iPads for the coming year.

The One-to-One iPad Initiative was unanimously approved by the NBISD School Board earlier this year, with around 500-thousand dollars in funding for the iPads themselves, plus neew wireless equipment district-wide, and an e-books program that replaces the traditional paper textbooks with digital textbooks and allows teachers to create their own digital books for their classes.

KGNB News Reporter Scott Morgan has a lot more about the implementation of that first-year program and you can hear his full report by clicking the Audio Clip link (which is directly underneath the following photos taken at yesterday's iPad Pickup Day).
