Joel James Found Guilty of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child
(New Braunfels, TX) -- 46-year old Joel James has been convicted of continuous sexual abuse of a child.
That was the decision of a Comal County Jury that began deliberations Friday after a day-long break on Thursday of this week.
After closing arguments from prosecutors and defense attorneys, the jury deliberated and returned a guilty verdict on that 1st degree felony crime, agreeing with prosecutors that the 46-year old James routinely molested a child younger than 14 over the span of 3 years, from 2007 to 2010.
The punishment phase of the trial is set to begin Monday morning at 9 in Judge Jack Robison’s courtroom. James faces 25 to 99 years in prison.
