(New Braunfels, TX) -- Canyon Lake and Guadalupe River levels are down as we head into the 4th of July holiday, but the Comal River continues to flow at a nice pace and the Edwards Aquifer is actually up a little bit.

GBRA has lowered the outflow from Canyon Dam to 60cfs and Canyon Lake itself has dropped to 903.9-feet, triggering the closure of the Canyon Lake Shores Boat Ramp by the County Engineer’s Office. The good news is that there are still 5 other public boat ramps that remain open at this time. To find a complete list of ramps at Canyon Lake (and their current status) log on to http://www.cceo.org.

Meanwhile, the Comal River is still flowing at a nice 200cfs. And the Edward’s Aquifer has rebounded slightly, thanks to some rain over the watershed over the weekend. The J-17 well is currently sitting at 644.1-feet, up about 3 feet from Friday’s reading. But once the heat returns, as is predicted later this week, the aquifer will start dropping again. Even with the small increase this weekend, we are still just 4 feet away from the trigger level for Stage 3 Water Restrictions.
