Friday, December 10th, 2010

New Braunfels DPS Troopers are continuing their investigation today into a double fatality traffic accident that happened Monday morning on Hwy 46, just past 3009. DPS officials tell KGNB News that 2 people died and 1 person was injured in the head-on collision that happened around 8:45am. According to DPS, a Dodge Neon, carrying two passengers, swerved into the wrong lane of traffic, striking a Ford Expedition head-on. The collision killed the driver, identified as 26-year old Cooper Cochran and his passenger, identified as 29-year old Holly Knight. The driver of the Expedition survived the wreck and was transported to a San Antonio hospital with serious injuries. The wreck shut down that area of Hwy 46 for several hours while DPS Troopers investigated the scene, and TXDOT crews cleaned up the wreck, which left debris, oil, and other engine fluids on the road. Investigators are now waiting for autopsy results to come in before they are able to determine a more exact cause for the crash.
