NBISD May Decide Tonight on Bond Package Details
The New Braunfels ISD School Board has their 2nd meeting in as many weeks to discuss the possibility of a bond election in the near future. Last week, the board heard about several options from district staff, including details for a 55, an 85, and a 110-million dollar bond package, with each package increasing the number of, and scope of, projects. Now the school board has to narrow down their options, and decide how big of a bond the voters of the NBISD can withstand, plus the impact of those bonds on the tax rate. Unlike last week’s meeting, which was just a workshop where no action could be taken, tonight’s meeting has this issue as a discussion and action item, which means the school board could decide tonight if they want to move forward with a bond election for this May, and at what price tag. Tonight’s school board meeting, to possibly move forward with a bond election, begins at 6pm at the NBISD Education Center on West Mill Street.
