There are no more local teams left in the baseball playoffs after Smithson Valley bowed out in the 2nd round, getting swept by Lake Travis two games to none in a best of three series over the weekend at Concordia University in Austin. After dropping Game 1 Friday 4-0, the Rangers lost Game 2 8-2 on Saturday. Smithson Valley finishes the season with a record of 17-19.

For the second straight season and third time the last four years, Texas State’s softball team is headed to the NCAA Tournament after winning yesterday’s Southland Conference Tournament Championship Game 3-0 over Sam Houston State. Texas State’s Chandler Hall threw a no-hitter and was named as Tournament MVP. The Bobcats have now won 13 straight games and will play in the College Station...

SOFTBALL
The New Braunfels Unicorns have been eliminated from the playoffs, getting swept in the Area Round by SA Clark two games to none after Clark won Game 2 Friday 7-6 in 9 innings at NEISD Softball Complex. Clark scored three runs in the 7th inning to tie the game, scoring the game winning run two innings later. The Unicorns finish the season 20-7.
