NWS: Moderate to Heavy Rain Expected Throughout The Day – May Cause Issues at Low Water Crossings

weather map 1A slow-moving system of surface low pressure is bringing a day of steady rain to South-Central Texas, with scattered, heavier showers likely throughout the day. The National Weather Service says to expect a widespread 1 to 2 inches across the region, with some areas getting as much as 3 inches. The ground is already fairly saturated from previous rains, and so low water crossings may fill up quickly, especially in areas south and east of I-35. But areas like New Braunfels, Seguin, and San Marcos will likely see urban and small stream flood advisories throughout the day, and possible flash flood watches and warnings, depending on how much of the heavier rain tracks across the I-35 corridor. Rain chances stand at 100% throughout the day, with more showers likely overnight and into tomorrow morning.
